Syslog is kept on partition that is mounted on RAM, meaning it will be lost if server is turned off for whatever reason. This include files that are rotated.
Maximum size of active syslog is 200KB, uncompressed. By active syslog it means, syslog that is used by operating system to log events to it and is shown on administrator website and console.
Syslog will be rotated up to 15 times, rotated syslogs are compressed.
> newsyslog[PID]: logfile turned over due to size>200K
> syslogd: restart
If syslog rotation reach more than 15 times, oldest rotate syslogs will be deletec and replaced.
To access all rotated syslog, use FTPS protocol (or FTP in secure disconnected network).
